Worthless Wealth

Alexander the Great conquered more than land than anyone who had ever lived before him. He also had more wealth than he would ever need or use. When he was near death, he left specific orders for his burial, including a strange request. Alexander wanted to leave his hands empty and protruding outside the casket. He wanted to show everybody that he was departing this world with nothing at all, in spite of all he had owned. Alexander the Great understood that power, material possesions, and earthly accomplishments are nothing when you're dead.

Matthew 6:19 - 21 says :"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".

What are your goals today? Are you investing your time and energy in earthly or heavenly treassure? Makes a list of the things you do today. How many of the things on your list wil count as treasure in heaven? Make your life count. God's heart is that you would live life to the fullest with Him.
